EPW - Thomas Earnshaw, No 119 High Holburn, London, duplex fusee with Z balance, 52mm, 18K gold OF case bearing London hallmarks for 1824, "H G" marking in cameo for casemaker Horace Gooch, initials and bear engraved at center rear, light cream colored enamel dial, KWKS, capped duplex escapement, likely 8J, bi-metallic Z balance with trapezoidal weights and horizontal cross-bar, spiral hairspring, gilt mvt, s#4555 with matching serial number to dial. Gross weight of assembled watch 80.4 dwt (125.0 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, fully wound, ticks briefly with a twist, overhaul needed, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some typical mild fine to micro-fine scratches; dial with edge chip near 6; excellent hands; case shows light wear, shallow dent to lower left rear shoulder, few mild dings elsewhere to rear shoulder, good overall engine turning detail though with loss at shoulder; box pivots freely; good glass crystal.
